Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara
Your adventure begins with a 5:30 AM pick-up from your hotel or the airport. After a brief orientation about your safari, embark on a scenic drive lasting approximately 5-6 hours to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. The journey takes you through the stunning landscapes of the Great Rift Valley, where you’ll have the opportunity to stop for breathtaking views and photo opportunities.

Upon arrival at the reserve, check into your accommodation, such as Mara Serenity Camp, where you can relax and refresh before your first taste of wildlife. After lunch, head out for an exciting afternoon game drive. The Masai Mara is renowned for its diverse wildlife, including the Big Five: lions, elephants, leopards, buffalo, and rhinoceros. You’ll also encounter other animals such as giraffes, zebras, and various antelope species. In the evening, return to the camp for dinner and your first overnight stay, where you can enjoy the sounds of the African bush.

Day 2: Masai Mara
Rise early for a thrilling sunrise game drive, when the wildlife is most active. Afterward, return to camp for a hearty breakfast. The day is dedicated to a full-day game drive, complete with a packed lunch, allowing you to explore different areas of the reserve. Look out for the famous Maasai lions, and keep an eye on the skies for various bird species.

In the late afternoon, consider visiting a nearby Maasai village to learn about their culture and traditions. This enriching experience typically incurs an additional fee of around $20 per person, and you’ll have the chance to interact with the locals and see traditional dances and crafts. Return to the camp for dinner and another restful night under the stars.

Day 3: Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru
After an early morning game drive and breakfast at the camp, check out and embark on your journey to Lake Nakuru National Park. This scenic drive takes approximately 5-6 hours, with beautiful landscapes along the way. Upon arrival at Lake Nakuru Lodge, check in and enjoy lunch while overlooking the park’s stunning scenery.

In the afternoon, set out for a game drive around Lake Nakuru, which is famous for its vast flocks of flamingos and diverse birdlife. The park is also home to rhinos, giraffes, and other wildlife. Spend the afternoon exploring the park’s diverse ecosystems, including the lake itself and surrounding woodlands. After an exhilarating day, return to the lodge for dinner and a cozy overnight stay.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Amboseli
Following breakfast at the lodge, take advantage of a final morning game drive in Lake Nakuru to spot any wildlife you may have missed. Depart for Amboseli National Park, which takes about 5-6 hours. Upon arrival, check into Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge, known for its stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

In the afternoon, head out for a game drive in Amboseli, where you’ll have the chance to see large herds of elephants, as well as other wildlife against the majestic backdrop of Kilimanjaro. The park is also rich in birdlife, making it a paradise for bird watchers. Return to the lodge for dinner and a restful night.

Day 5: Amboseli
Begin your day with an early morning game drive to witness the animals at dawn. After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive with a packed lunch. Explore the park’s diverse habitats, from swamps to open plains, maximizing your opportunities to see wildlife in their natural surroundings.

In the afternoon, visit the observation hill for panoramic views of the park and Kilimanjaro. This vantage point is ideal for photography and enjoying the breathtaking scenery. After an exciting day of wildlife viewing, return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 6: Amboseli to Nairobi
On your final day, rise early for a last game drive before breakfast. After your morning adventure, enjoy breakfast at the lodge and check out. If time allows, visit Mzima Springs to see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birds in a lush setting.

Begin your drive back to Nairobi, with a travel time of approximately 4-5 hours, stopping for lunch en route. Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport for your departure.
