Kenya Safari FAQs – Planning & Logistics

Planning a Kenya safari involves decisions around timing, routing, comfort level and transport. Below are the most common questions we receive from guests before booking.

Is your Kenya safari private or shared?

All our safaris are private. You travel in your own 4×4 vehicle with a dedicated driver-guide. There are no fixed group departures or shared game drives.

Fly-in safaris maximise wildlife time and reduce long road transfers, ideal for shorter trips or premium comfort.
Road safaris offer scenic overland travel and can be more cost-efficient for multi-park circuits. We help you choose based on your dates, pacing and budget.

For peak seasons (July–October and December–March), we recommend booking 4–8 months in advance, especially for Masai Mara and fly-in camps. For shoulder seasons, 2–4 months is typically sufficient.

Yes. Every itinerary on our website is a starting point. You can adjust duration, upgrade lodges, add Samburu or Amboseli, include a beach extension, or combine Kenya with Tanzania or gorilla trekking.

Most of our safari packages include:

  • Private 4×4 vehicle with professional driver-guide

  • Park entry fees

  • Accommodation

  • Full-board meals on safari

  • Airport transfers

Flights (for fly-in safaris), international airfare, visas and travel insurance are quoted separately where applicable.

Kenya is a year-round safari destination.

  • July–October: Great Migration and dry-season wildlife viewing

  • January–March: Excellent predator sightings and clear skies

  • April–June & November: Fewer crowds and strong value in many lodges

We advise based on your preferred parks and travel style.
