tart your day with a morning pickup from your hotel in Nairobi or the airport. Once you enter the forest, you can choose to nature or bike, guided by an expert who will share insights about the various tree and bird species, along with the unique sights and sounds of the forest. The walking trails provide stunning views and are clearly marked and color-coded by distance: eight, six, or three miles. The biking trail spans approximately 7.5 miles. As you explore, you’ll meander through lush forest areas, past beautiful waterfalls, caves, and wetlands. There are plenty of picnic benches throughout the park, perfect for taking a break and enjoying the scenery.
The reserve also features several points of interest, both historical and ecological. For instance, the Central Bank of Kenya used to have an incinerator here that disposed of decommissioned currency in the 1990s, and you can still see the old chimney. The sacred caves within the reserve served as hideouts for the Mau-Mau freedom fighters, and Lily Lake is notable for its abandoned quarry.
After the tour you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport.
